This notification pertains to an issue on the online course delivery system. eCollege has established that a degradation has been affecting users beginning at approximately 07:03AM MDT.

We have received reports that users are unable to send emails from within courses.  This issue has been escalated to senior support resources at eCollege and is under investigation at this time.  There is not yet an estimated time of resolution for this issue.

Currently the eCollege IT department is working on resolving the issue and we will post an additional notification when the issue is fully resolved.

RESOLVED Post-Maintenance Firewall Issue

On April 14, 2011, from 4:00 AM to 6:22 AM MDT, Pearson eCollege users may have experienced problems accessing online courses. From 4:00 AM to 6:12 AM MDT,  some users may have encountered sporadic issues including: “Page cannot be displayed” errors, server errors after clicking a link, and blank pages.  From 6:12 AM to 6:22 AM MDT, users would not have been able to access the platform.

The cause of this issue was determined to be a firewall code upgrade that was performed during yesterday’s scheduled maintenance event. As soon as our teams discovered the issue, we rolled back the changes and service returned to normal. We are actively working with the firewall vendor to determine root cause and next steps to mitigate any possibility of recurring issues.
